Here we are again – goodness knows where the time goes to – it has been flying by so fast ! Hopefully the winter months have been kind to you all and you have had lots of time for quiet crafting and relaxing.
We have 3 challenges this season:
Having just been for a visit to the warehouses of this amazing charity based in Perth I was ever so impressed by the whole set up. Ann Gloag (owner of the Stagecoach bus group) runs the operation and her warehouses for this project are overseen by the lovely Duncan Graham who showed me around as I was delivering bags of items on Thursday.
They send containers of aid to several countries and there are two due to go in the next few months to Kenya and Malawi so I promised Duncan that I would set you all off to create items to help fill these containers with the correct items. They also have donations of tons of medical supplies, bedlinen etc which they take out as well – it was so weird looking round the warehouse at piles of zimmer frames, drip stands, duvets and pillows and hanging racks of clothing etc too. To help this wonderful charity, we need your help - please click here to find out more about the Challenge.
The next one I have for you is our critter challenge. This is a funny request, but we have been asked (through the lovely Morag who looks after the North of Scotland for us) to make ……..FERRETS ….lol – don’t say we don’t get odd requests! These will be for a charity called Kirstys Kids – a charity set up by a father in memory of his daughter who was killed when she was hit by a car.
Just before she left the house and got knocked over, Kirsty had been discussing with her dad her plans to do a bike ride all around the UK to raise money to help kids in need. Her lovely dad decided to go ahead with the plans created by his beautiful, gentle, kind hearted girl so Kirstys Kids was born . . . click here for the Challenge
Continuing on with warm kids clothing for Operation Orphan’s keep a kid warm appeal for hats, scarves, gloves, socks and mitts for Blythswood Care who have asked that we restrict what we send to them to items suitable for shoe boxes until further notice.
